The EOOS Technology Forum is a biennial event designed to help create and strengthen links between technology users, developers and providers in ocean observing across the public and private sectors from European countries.

This year’s workshop is organised by EuroGOOS with the support of the EuroSea project and endorsed as an activity of the UN Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development. It will take place as a virtual event on the 22-24 March 2022 (14:00-17:30 UTC). The workshop will contribute to the UN Ocean Decade and will explore the technological advances needed through the lens of two main societal requirements:

  • “A clean ocean where sources of pollution are identified and removed”
  • “A healthy and resilient ocean where marine ecosystems are mapped and protected”

The forum will be using the topic of “marine pollution: monitoring, forecasting, and mitigating the impact on marine life and coastal populations” as a case study to explore technology developments and applications that cut across disciplines, needs and sectors.

The workshop will feature high profile keynote speakers and panelists to explore and discuss the technological requirements, priorities, and technological solutions to help achieve a healthy and clean ocean
